privacy policy

Effective Date: June 19, 2026  ·  Last Updated: September 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Pur Path Project LLC, doing business as pur path project (“we,” “us,” “our”), collects, uses, and protects information when you use purpathproject.com (the “Site”). The Site sells laboratory compounds on a strictly Research Use Only (RUO) basis. Products are not for human or veterinary use, consumption, injection, ingestion, or application.

Information we collect

  • Account information: email address, password (stored hashed), and any name you provide.
  • Age & eligibility data: your date of birth and a 21+/research-use acknowledgment. To enforce our age and eligibility requirements, each time you verify your age (when you create an account and when you place an order) we record the date of birth you provide, the resulting age, your IP address, browser user-agent, and a timestamp, as a compliance record.
  • Device & usage data: IP address, browser/device type, pages viewed, and similar analytics, including approximate location (country/region) derived from your IP address. We use this approximate location only to estimate general region for analytics and to enforce geographic shipping and eligibility restrictions; we do not collect precise or GPS-based location.
  • Marketing attribution: where you arrived from (referrer and campaign/UTM parameters) and how you registered (email or Google), stored with your account.
  • Order & transaction data: items ordered, order totals, shipping address, and order history. We use the ZIP code, city, and state of your shipping address to calculate the sales tax due on your order.
  • Payment information: processed by third-party payment processors. We do not store full payment-card numbers on our servers. Depending on the method you choose, we may process card, bank/ACH, or cryptocurrency payments through those processors.
  • Communications: messages you send us and your email-marketing preferences.

How we use information

  • To verify age and eligibility for a Research-Use-Only account and to maintain a compliance record of that verification.
  • To create and manage your account, process and fulfill orders, and provide customer support.
  • To calculate, collect, and remit sales tax, using the ZIP code, city, and state of your shipping address to determine the rate that applies where your order is delivered, and to keep the transaction records that tax authorities require.
  • To detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, chargebacks, and security incidents.
  • To send marketing emails; you can opt out at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email.
  • To understand Site usage and improve the Site (analytics).
  • To understand how researchers find us, for example a referral link or campaign source recorded when you create an account, so we can direct our marketing spend efficiently and keep our pricing stable. We use this to understand how researchers find us and, where a partner referred you, to credit that partner under our partner program. We do not sell it.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms, including geographic shipping restrictions.

Use of artificial intelligence

We use third-party artificial intelligence tools to support routine administrative and operational business functions, including aspects of website development, customer communications, and marketing content such as email and social media. These tools assist our team in creating and managing content and day-to-day operations. We do not use artificial intelligence to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you, we do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your personal information to train third-party AI models. Any personal information involved remains protected under this Privacy Policy.

Cookies & analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for several purposes: strictly necessary functions (login, cart, checkout, security, and remembering that you confirmed you are 21 or older); a first-touch attribution cookie to remember how you found us; analytics to understand how the Site is used; and, only with your consent, marketing and advertising technologies. You can accept or reject the non-essential categories using our consent banner and change your choice at any time through the consent-management link in the footer. The specific tools in each category are listed under “Tracking technologies and your consent choices” below. Where you have opted in to email marketing and are signed in, we use the contents of your cart, which are recorded on our own systems rather than by a third party, to send cart-reminder messages. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.

Email tracking

When we send you marketing email, we record whether it was delivered, whether it was opened, and whether you clicked a link in it.

Opens are measured using a small invisible image in the message. This method is unreliable by design: several mail apps, including Apple Mail and Gmail, load images automatically whether or not anyone read the message, so an “open” does not reliably mean a person saw it. We treat opens as a rough indicator only.

Links in our marketing email are routed through click.purpathproject.com, which records that the link was clicked and then sends you to the page you asked for.

We use this information to understand which emails are useful, to stop sending to people who never engage, and to remove addresses that bounce or report our mail as spam. Delivery, bounce and complaint information is also reported back to us by Amazon Web Services, which sends our email on our behalf.

We keep email engagement records for 24 months and then delete them.

You can stop this at any time by unsubscribing, using the link in any marketing email or your mail app’s own unsubscribe button. Turning off automatic image loading in your mail app also prevents open tracking. Order, shipping and account emails are not marketing and are sent regardless of this setting.

How we share information

We share information only with service providers that help us operate the Site, including hosting, payment processing and fraud screening, email and text-message delivery, analytics and advertising measurement, sales-tax calculation and filing, order fulfillment and shipping/carrier partners, and only as needed to perform those services; with professional advisors; or when required by law. We do not sell your personal information for money. Where you were referred to us by a partner in our partner program, we record that referral and may pay that partner a commission on your order; we share only what is needed to credit and pay them, never your contact details for their own marketing. Our use of advertising and analytics technologies is described under “Data Sharing” and “Tracking technologies and your consent choices” below.

Data Sharing

  • We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not give third parties your contact details (such as your email address or phone number) for their own marketing. With your consent, we do use advertising and analytics technologies (such as the Meta/Facebook Pixel and Conversions API and, where enabled, TikTok and Google Analytics) that receive limited, de-identified information about your activity on the Site for advertising measurement and, where applicable, to show you relevant ads. Under California law this may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. The information these tools receive never includes the specific compound or product you viewed or purchased, and you can opt out at any time using the consent banner or the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer.
  • Our sales-tax provider receives the delivery ZIP code, city, and state and the amounts on your order so that tax can be calculated and filed. It does not receive the name or SKU of any product you ordered; order lines are transmitted only as generic line numbers and internal product identifiers.
  • If you text our support line, we will not share your mobile number or the content of your messages with any third party for purposes unrelated to answering you. We may share them with the phone providers and carriers that carry the conversation. This applies to any information sharing described elsewhere in this policy.

Data retention

We keep account and order information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Age-verification records (date of birth, age, IP, timestamp) are retained as a compliance record for the period required by applicable law and our payment and regulatory obligations.

Your choices & rights

  • Marketing: opt out of marketing emails anytime via the unsubscribe link in any email.
  • California (CCPA/CPRA) and similar rights: you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may opt out of any “sale” or “sharing”, though we do not sell personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
  • To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity.

Social media

If you mention or tag us on social platforms, we may view your public posts and respond to you through that platform’s messaging, including occasional discretionary offers, in accordance with that platform’s rules. We do not receive your email address from social platforms.

Tracking technologies and your consent choices

We use the following technologies on this site, grouped by the consent category they belong to:

  • Strictly necessary (always on): cookies required for the shopping cart, checkout, account, and security (WooCommerce), and a record that you confirmed you are 21 or older.
  • Analytics (only with your consent): privacy-minded analytics providers (currently Google Analytics (GA4) and PostHog), which help us understand how the Site is used and fix problems. PostHog may record a replay of your on-site session for troubleshooting; input fields are masked, and we do not record sessions on checkout, account, or certificate-of-analysis pages. These set analytics cookies (for example, _ga).
  • Marketing and advertising (only with your consent): advertising measurement tools (currently the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel and Conversions API and, where enabled, the TikTok pixel), used for advertising measurement and relevant ads. These set marketing cookies (for example, _fbp). We run these in a minimized, limited-data mode and never send the specific compound or product you viewed or purchased.
  • Social sign-in providers load only if you choose to sign in with them.

A consent banner lets you accept or reject the non-essential categories, and you can change your choice at any time using the consent-management link in the footer.

We honor browser-based opt-out preferences, including Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track, where applicable.

California residents. You may opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information (as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA) using the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer. We do not sell your personal information for money. You also retain the rights to access, correct, and delete your personal information described elsewhere in this policy.

Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Age requirement

The Site is intended only for individuals 21 years of age or older purchasing for laboratory/research purposes. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21.

Text messages

We operate a marketing text-message program that you can join at purpathproject.com/texts. We text you only if you gave us your mobile number and affirmatively agreed to receive messages, and only after you confirm by replying to the message we send you. We do not enroll a number that you gave us at checkout or in a support conversation. Those messages are sent through our messaging provider. You can stop them at any time by replying STOP to any message, by asking us to stop in your own words, or by turning texts off under Account details on our website; any of these stops them immediately. Reply HELP for help. Message frequency is approximately four messages per month. Message and data rates may apply. Separately, if you text our support line at (844) 787-4255, we receive your mobile number and the content of your message and use them only to answer you; those conversations are handled using Grasshopper, our business phone provider. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell your mobile number, and we share it only with the messaging providers, phone providers and carriers needed to deliver the message. When you sign up we record the date and time, the IP address and browser you used, and the exact wording of the consent notice shown to you, so that we can show what you agreed to and when. We keep that record for as long as we may need it to answer a question about your consent, and for at least four years after you leave the program. See our Mobile Terms for the full terms of the text-message program.

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
